dhw: Why “so-called”? It IS a theory, but you yourself have agreed that there is enough scientific evidence for you to believe its basic tenet, which is common descent. You have agreed many times, however, that belief in the supernatural requires more than scientific evidence, so why compare the two? -To me the main point of Darwin's work was to provide a mechanism from the apparent appearance of common sense evolution as to how it might have worked. Evolution, from what I have read, was a widely accepted possibility. Until Darwin explained his approach, how it might work was not. That is why I reference Darwin as I do.
